So Tired… But It’s All Good

Have you every felt like you’re juggling so many balls in the air that you’re kind of afraid to slow down the tempo or- god forbid- let one of the balls drop in case you lose your momentum and fuck the whole kit and kaboodle right up?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure you have, and probably on more than one occasion.

I’ve been feeling a bit like that recently. But I’m trying to give myself permission to switch off for a bit this weekend. Well, Saturday and probably just part of Sunday but, hey, it’s a start, right? Of course, it remains to be seen whether I succeed or not!

I pulled an all-nighter last night when a client messaged me around 11pm (UK time) with an emergency: they needed an article ASAP for a website that they’re rushing to put together. Three thousand words and several coffee breaks later, I finally submitted the article around 6am and stumbled into bed shortly after. I actually enjoyed it, though. I find that a ticking clock and a tight deadline can, on occasion, be a great exercise in focussing the mind and stretching one’s limits.

I’ve done a lot of writing again this week, and am really enjoying it. Here are links to a few of these pieces, should you wish to have a read…

  1. Damn new
    Things to
    Make time to read!
    There are
Five balls we juggle three are
    Rubber
    Two
    Glass
The glass are our Health and family. The other three various priorities that we don’t want to drop but they won’t be the end.
    Health and family are
    Not to be fooled
    With.

  2. Yes! I understand it fully! I seem to live like that! Never enough time, always too much work, but it is good when a nice offer comes around even if it is late at night…great post and I will read the stories in the links, for sure! All the best,
    F.
